Behavior Modification Package
Behavior Support Training
Behavior support training is designed for dogs experiencing fear, anxiety, reactivity, frustration, and household behavior challenges that impact daily life but do not involve severe or high-risk aggression.
This service focuses on helping dogs feel safer, more regulated, and better able to cope with their environment using evidence-based, positive reinforcement methods only. Training emphasizes emotional regulation, confidence building, stress reduction, and impulse control rather than suppression or punishment.
Required Initial Behavior Assessment
All behavior support services require an Initial Behavior Assessment before training can begin. This allows for accurate risk evaluation, ethical case selection, and a personalized training plan.
The assessment includes:
• Detailed behavioral history and intake
• Identification of triggers and early warning signs
• Evaluation of the dog’s emotional state and coping skills
• Review of household routines, management, and environment
• Safety awareness and handling guidance
• Determination of appropriate training scope
• A personalized behavior modification roadmap
Behavior cases cannot be accurately or safely addressed without this evaluation.
Scope of Practice and Safety Standards
Behavior support services are provided within clearly defined safety and ethical boundaries.
• Cases are accepted up to Dunbar Bite Scale Level 4 only
• Dogs with a bite history exceeding Level 4 are not accepted for training services
• Dogs with unpredictable aggression or a high risk of serious injury may be referred out
• Aggression cases requiring medical or psychiatric evaluation require veterinary clearance
• Cases outside scope will be referred to a credentialed behavior specialist or veterinary behaviorist
If, at any point, a case is determined to exceed the trainer’s scope or presents an increased safety risk, services may be paused or discontinued and appropriate referrals provided.
Training Philosophy
All behavior support services use:
• Positive reinforcement and humane training methods
• Desensitization and counterconditioning protocols
• Management and safety strategies to reduce risk
• Clear, written homework and progression plans
• Client education and handler skill development
No aversive tools, intimidation, flooding, or punishment-based methods are used.
Important Note
Many behavior concerns labeled as “aggression” are actually fear-based or frustration-driven responses. The required assessment ensures accurate classification, protects everyone involved, and allows for the most effective and ethical training approach.
